Annual Dinner - Standard Chartered Credit & Collection

KL, 9 January 2010 - i've successfully made another happy client after a great annual dinner event of Standard Chartered Bank Credit & Collection Dept.

The group photo was challenging task. How do you captures 380 people in just 12 feet away?!?!
Well i did it, with a big help of my Sigma 10-20mm, and 12 foot ladder provided by the hotel. I've used two SB800 with umbrella from both sides to add up the light. Again of course, RAW also helps a lot.

Another painful task is the instant print service. With a little (well big actually) help from an assistant, i've setup a print station just outside the ballroom. Guests can instantly print photos i shot throughout the event. More than 400pcs of 4R photos printed out that night. They loved this!

Big thanks to AzleeSamat for recommending me this job; Sara Loh SC staff whom i dealt with; Faizal (not me) my assistant on the print station, and 'tag-along' photographer, Maria and Mizi.

Thanks to Dr. Shima from MMU for giving me the trust.

OUM Convo at PWTC

Another graduation photo. This time at Dewan Merdeka PWTC for Open University Malaysia Convocation Ceremony.

Im dropping a few tips here for graduation photography, from my own experience.
1. Even you are just a photographer, DRESS OFFICIALLY. This is one event full of protocol, so as the dress code. Sometimes, by dressing up, u may be treated as official photographer, great uh!
2. As always, if you are not the official, respect the Official Photographer appointed for the ceremony.
3. Be different from casual and classic graduation photo, be creative.

Carpet shopping?

On our way home to Seremban, my wifey and i had a quick stop at Nilai 3, the well renowned for wholesale market. Well once we got there, not really quick la.. penat jugek la nak follow my wifey window shopping! :D

What really caught my eyes was that huge newly opened carpet warehouse + factory down there. Just so coincidence we did plan to buy a new carpet for our house. Luckily, i did bring along my camera that day, as most photographers do :)

Here's a snap.

See how huge it is. It is mall of carpets! with reasonable price too.. way cheaper than Jalan TAR! But honestly, we had a little head spin to pick one piece of carpet... rambang mata woo..

Put your guess on how much these carpet cost. :D

On the other hand, i figured this place could be a very good portraiture shooting location! LOL! I love the ceiling as background.

UniKL 2009 Convocation Day

Just 2 weeks ago i was again at Putrajaya International Convention Center for the 6th UniKL Convocation Ceremony. Not an official for the ceremony, but official to a client who was one of the degree recipients.

The photos tell the stories...

Aidilfitri 2009 pretty models session
